Russ:  Hi I’m Russ Capper and this is Green Bank Business Builders.  Coming to you today from Pet Vet Animal Hospitals and I’m very pleased to have as my guest Tina Poindexter, Vice President of Business Banking at Green Bank.  Tina welcome to the show.

Tina:  Nice to meet you.

Russ:  Tell us about what you do as the Vice President of Business Banking at Green Bank.

Tina:  Well I work with privately held businesses like Pet Vet Animal Hospitals in helping them with their basic banking needs.  That can be anything from providing a line of credit, commercial real estate financing as well as treasury management – I bring in my partners for that – and just overall helping them with the banking needs of their companies.

Russ:  Okay, and always doing it with that focus on relationship banking too right?

Tina:  That’s correct, relationship.

Russ:  Tell us why we’re here at Pet Vet Animal Hospitals.

Tina:  Well we are here to showcase one of Houston’s premier veterinarians Mike Mark and Pet Vet Animal Hospital.  I have known Dr. Mark as a client for over 23 years and I have had the privilege of helping his business grow through business banking.

Russ:  He’s a client of the bank, but you’re also a customer of his right?

Tina:  That’s correct.

Russ:  Connect those dots, how did that happen?

Tina:  I originally was introduced to Dr. Mark when I had a cat who incidentally lived to be over 13 years old.  So Dr. Mark took care of my cat from the time she was a kitten as well as in her later years.  Similarly I had a dog who lived to be 16 and one of the things that really impressed me is that during the senior years of my dog’s life Dr. Mark and Pet Vet helped me make a choice with her end of life decision.  And very privately allowed me to come here, being the last customer of the day as we had to do a very difficult thing with the dog.  So that compassion and the relationship is what kept me as a customer.

Russ:  So you’re a customer of his for how many years now?

Tina:  Over 21 years.

Russ:  And he was a customer of Green Bank for how many years?

Tina:  It’s going on 4 years.

Russ:  Wow, so it took a while to earn the right but you’ve got him now, right?

Tina:  It did and I will have to say that our relationship actually expanded over several different banks that I worked at and he followed me to each one and we’re glad to have him here at Green Bank.
