PKF Texas: The Entrepreneur’s Playbook® – Ludmila (Mila) Rusakova Golovine

Entrepreneur's Playbook | Episode: 547 | Guests: Ludmila Golovine | 0
Russ speaks with Mila Golovine, President and CEO, MasterWord Services, Inc., a contributor to the Profit and Peril: Secrets to Global Expansion report. They discuss the importance of defining goals for your meeting when working with individuals with diverse backgrounds.

Russ: This is the PKF Texas Entrepreneur’s Playbook and our topic this week is a spinoff of the Profit and Peril Report. I’m Russ Capper, this week’s guest host, and I’m here with Mila Golivine, President and CEO of MasterWord Services, Inc. Welcome back to the Playbook Mila.

Mila: Thank you for having me.

Russ: You bet. When you were here last time you talked about communications difficulty in meetings with people in diverse groups; how in the world can you effectively do that and have progress with a diverse group?

Mila: Well the first number one thing as a manager or as the person leading the meeting is you want to flexible. You want to make everybody in the group in a way aware of our differences but also very clearly explain the desired outcome of the meeting. The desired outcome may be to have a plan worked out or a schedule worked out and then you may want to prep people by saying we’re going to be critiquing the schedule, giving feedback and asking questions from time to time. So you sort of want to be embracive of all cultures and at the same time if the meeting or situation comes to an uncomfortable moment…

Russ: Stand still…

Mila: Stand still in a way, you want to remind everybody about the desired outcome and ask the question why are we here and then be respectful of everybody’s way of communication.

Russ: Very interesting and thank you for sharing that with us.

Mila: Thank you.

Russ: You bet. For other international topics visit PKFTexas.com/internationaldesk. This has been another Thought Leader production brought to you by PKF Texas Entrepreneur’s Playbook.
