Myrtle Jones – Halliburton

Women Mean Business | Episode: 604 | Guests: Myrtle Jones | 0
Find your passion and be ready to put in the hours; extraordinary advice from an extraordinary woman. Leisa Holland-Nelson visits with Myrtle Jones, SVP-tax for Halliburton.

Leisa: Hello I’m Leisa Holland Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business where we’re going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Myrtle Jones, Senior Vice President of Tax for Halliburton, a Fortune 100 company located her in Houston, Texas. Myrtle, welcome to Women Mean Business.

Myrtle: Well thank you Leisa, it’s so good to be here with you today.

Leisa: You’re so successful, I’m thinking I can’t even think of how many women – and men too probably – would love to know what your advice is to achieve the kind of success that youhave.

Myrtle: Well my advice is in two parts. One is the old adage that you cannot get away from you’ve got to work hard and I’ve worked very hard to get where I am and in order to succeed that just does not go away; you have to work hard. The second advice is find what you’re passionate about and work at that because if you’re passionate you’re going to put in the work that’s needed, you’re going to enjoy working and you will succeed.

Leisa: Thank you very much. There you have it, extraordinary advice from an extraordinary woman. I’m Leisa Holland Nelson, President and Co-founder of ContentActive, Houston’s leading web and mobile technology company. You can find me at ContentActive.com or follow me on Twitter @LHNelson. We’ll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
