Women Mean Business – Alexandra Pruner

Women Mean Business | Episode: 533 | Guests: | 0
Never underestimate the importance of solid, technical research, especially in an energy investment bank. Leisa chats with Alexandra Pruner, Chief Financial Officer of Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co.

Leisa: Hello, I’m Leisa Holland-Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business, where we’re going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Alie Pruner: Board Director, Partner, and Chief Financial Officer of Tudor, Pickering, Holt; an energy investment bank. That is a mouthful.

Alie: It is a mouthful.

Leisa: Welcome Alie.

Alie: Thank you so much, Leisa.

Leisa: We’re so glad you’re here. Tell us about Tudor, Pickering, Holt.

Alie: Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co., as you mentioned, is a worldwide energy investment bank. We’re headquartered here in Houston. We’ve got 180 employees in 5 offices, or I guess 6 offices now around the world, and we provide 3 legs to the stool: we have an energy investment bank, mergers and acquisitions advisory practice; we also help take companies public and provide financing for energy companies. And, in addition, we cover probably 170 stocks worldwide in the energy space, and that really is the underpinning of our firm. It was based on strong technical research and that part of the business continues to thrive. In addition, we also have an asset management complex and today we have probably about 1.8 billion in assets under management, and those again are invested in the energy space and we help manage those assets for people.

Leisa: Awesome. How old is the firm?

Alie: The firm originally started, as I mentioned, on the research side with Pickering Energy Partners, back in 2003. I joined up with Bobby Tudor in late 2006/early 2007, with Tudor Capital, and we combined the firm in mid-2007 and have grown from there.

Leisa: Sounds like the sky’s the limit.

Alie: Well, from your lips to Gods ears.

Leisa: Thanks for being here.

Alie: Well, thanks so much for having me.

Leisa: There you have it, another extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things. I’m Leisa Holland-Nelson, President and Co-Founder of ContentActive, Houston’s leading web and mobile design and development company. You can find me at contentactive.com or follow me on Twitter @lhnelson. We’ll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
