Women Mean Business – Dawn Nielsen

Women Mean Business | Episode: 558 | Guests: Dawn Nielsen | 0
Extraordinary advice from another extraordinary woman. Leisa Holland-Nelson chats with Dawn Nielsen, vice president of the Kolache Factory.

Leisa: Hello, I’m Leisa Holland Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business, where we’re going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Dawn Neilsen, Vice President of The Kolache Factory. Dawn, welcome to Women Mean Business.

Dawn: Thank you Leisa, happy to be here.

Leisa: I know The Kolache Factory is a family business, which makes it a special situation when you’re giving advice to someone about being successful, but even in a family business or not what would you tell someone who wanted to achieve the success you’ve achieved?

Dawn: I think what I would honestly say is that you need to have a good idea of what your customers expect of you and what your employees expect of you. You need to be able to listen, hear what they’re saying; you don’t always go with what they’re saying but sometimes you have to and that doesn’t mean you always make the right decisions. So I think being reflective, being able to communicate well, those are things that make you a success.

Leisa: Thank you, I appreciate that.

Dawn: Thank you.

Leisa: There you have it, extraordinary advice from an extraordinary woman. I’m Leisa Holland Nelson, President and Co-founder of ContentActive, Houston’s leading web and mobile design and development company. You can find me at ContactActive.com or follow me on Twitter @LHNelson. We’ll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
