Women Mean Business – Gindi Vincent

Women Mean Business | Episode: 564 | Guests: Gindi Vincent | 0
She’s an attorney advising on environmental issues who loves her job. Leisa Holland-Nelson interviews Gindi Vincent, counsel for ExxonMobil.

Leisa: Hello, I’m Leisa Holland Nelson and welcome to another edition of Woman Mean Business where we’re going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Gindi Vincent, Counsel for ExxonMobil; Gindi, welcome to Women Mean Business.

Gindi: Thank you for having me.

Leisa: Counsel, what does the mean at ExxonMobil?

Gindi: We counsel. So I get the great opportunity to work across the business lines for the company and support them in different environmental issues. It’s been a really exciting ride with a really wonderful company.

Leisa: Are you a lawyer?

Gindi: I’m a lawyer; I’ve been a lawyer for 18 years and I started out in private practice and was advising energy companies and now I’m on the other side.

Leisa: So tell me what your days are like.

Gindi: So they’re busy. I can be travelling; I can go anywhere from D.C. to Austin depending on where the job takes me and then sometimes I’m just on phone calls all day long, studying, researching and supporting my clients across the country.

Leisa: Okay, so what’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced since you got to ExxonMobil?

Gindi: I think just learning the structure. You know, I went from a mid-sized company to a really big company and so I think understanding the different players, who you need to reach out to, how you need to engage different people, that’s been a great learning experience but the biggest challenge too.

Leisa: And what about moving to The Woodlands, has that been a challenge?

Gindi: It has been a challenge as I’m a Houstonian, my husband’s a Houstonian and so we still live in Houston, but the campus is gorgeous, state of the art; beautiful technology and it’s a wonderful place to work.

Leisa: Well thank you for being here with us today.

Gindi: Thanks for having me.

Leisa: There you have it, another extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things. I’m Leisa Holland Nelson, Co-founder, President and Chief Marketing Officer of ContentActive, Houston’s leading web and mobile technology company. You can find me at ContentActive.com or follow me on Twitter @LHNelson. We’ll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
