Women Mean Business – Gita Kulkarni

Women Mean Business | Episode: 516 | Guests: Gita Kulkarni | 0
Today’s extraordinary advice: take advantage of the technology around you. Leisa Holland-Nelson hosts Gita Kulkarni, founder and president of Avinta Services Corp.

Leisa: Hello, I’m Leisa Holland-Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business where we’re going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Gita Kulkarni, the President and Executive Producer of Avinta Services; Gita, welcome.

Gita: Thanks Leisa.

Leisa: I’m so glad you’re here. I want you to imagine that we have a young entrepreneur with us today and she wants to achieve your success, what advice would you give her?

Gita: I think take the risks. Take them early, take them often, get used to being uncomfortable and then take advantage of technology. I think there are massive ideas out there that our country has not seen because they haven’t taken advantage of technology.

Leisa: Well where is that technology?

Gita: it’s everywhere; it’s in a phone, it’s in a computer, it’s in a lot of the machines that drive our business today and I think young thinkers have the ability to harness that system and know how to take the best advantage of it.

Leisa: So it’s taking advantage of mobility.

Gita: The internet of things.

Leisa: Yeah, the whole internet of things. That’s great, thank you very much.

Gita: Thanks Leisa.

Leisa: There you have it, extraordinary advice from an extraordinary woman. I’m Leisa Holland-Nelson, President and Co-founder of ContentActive, Houston’s leading web and mobile design and development company. You can find me at ContentActive.com or follow me on Twitter @LHNeslon. We’ll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
