Women Mean Business – Gita Kulkarni

Women Mean Business | Episode: 510 | Guests: Gita Kulkarni | 0
If they can’t do it artfully well, then it’s just not done. Leisa Holland-Nelson hosts Gita Kulkarni, founder and president of Avinta Services Corp.

Leisa: Hello, I’m Leisa Holland Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business where we’re going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Gita Kulkarni, President and Executive Producer of Avinta Services, a SalesForce.com partner; Gita, welcome to Women Mean Business.

Gita: Thank you Leisa.

Leisa: You have an extraordinary tagline; will you share that with us?

Gita: Yes, it is “To excite and delight our customers.” What we do when we implement our technology for clients who are across the city and across the globe is to do what we do artfully well. If we don’t do it well, we don’t consider done.

Leisa: So how do you implement SalesForce artfully well? I mean most of us think oh no, I have to do this thing. So tell me about making it artful and well.

Gita: Absolutely. I think we take like an approach that a doctor would take to how they implement and diagnose a client; we really do seek to understand our client’s needs, their intentions with technology and then we look for ways to define their outcomes and then advance them to a new level that brings the tool, SalesForce, to a competitive advantage for the business.

Leisa: I have a question for you, what size client is right for you?

Gita: Yeah, so generally it’s a client that’s got a couple million dollars’ worth of annual revenues, where they’ve got a critical mass of employees and they want to take a tool like SalesForce.com that will allow them to mobilize their business, that will allow them to capture insights about the business and capitalize on even more revenue for the business.

Leisa: Okay, one last question, when you say critical mass of employees, is it one, two, three, ten; how many employees do you need to really need to use SalesForce?

Gita: You know, that’s a great question; honestly it could be anywhere from two employees all the way up to 6,000 employees. We’ve worked on that depth and breadth of client so anybody that’s got more than one employee can probably take the best advantage of the tool.

Leisa: Super, thank you so much for being her today.

Gita: Thank you.

Leisa: There you have it, another extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things. I’m Leisa Holland Nelson, President and Co-founder of ContentActive, Houston’s leading web and mobile design and development company. You can find me at ContentActive.com or follow me on Twitter @LHNelson. We’ll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
