Women Mean Business – Kim Evans

Women Mean Business | Episode: 567 | Guests: Kim Evans | 0
Could a digital healthcare company be the carescription of the future? Leisa Holland-Nelson visits with Kim Evans, co-founder and CEO, Seremedi, Inc | Health Vitality Advocate & Enabler.

Leisa: Hello, I’m Leisa Holland Nelson and welcome to another edition of Woman Mean Business where we’re going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Kim Evans, Co-Founder and CEO of Seremedi; Kim, welcome to Women Mean Business.

Kim: Thank you Leisa.

Leisa: I’m so glad you’re here. I want you to tell me all about Seremidy, I’m totally fascinated with it.

Kim: We are a digital healthcare company headquartered here in Houston; located in the Texas Medical Center and what we do is we develop a mobile platform for peri-operative care. And we enable surgeons to help their patients successfully prepare and recover from surgical procedures.

Leisa: And is your product called Seremedi?

Kim: Our product is called CareScriptions. It was actually – that name was actually crafted by a brainstorming session I had with an MD Anderson doctor who was lamenting because he was just talking about patients recovering and he wished he could do more than just write a prescription because to get fully healed it’s exercise, it’s a commitment to getting well, it’s a mindset and he thought, you know, I need to write a park-scription.I said how about a CareScritption? He said I like a CareScription because that’s pretty complete. I said well all right, that’s the name of the product.

Leisa: That’s fabulous and I know that MD Anderson is a client and a partner, but you’re going elsewhere now as well, right?

Kim: That’s right. We have an agreement, a contract with New York University Hospital for orthopedic procedures, so we’ve expanded surgical oncology procedures that we have with MD Anderson. And in addition to that we’re also going to be providing, or supporting, organ transplant procedures as well as neural surgery procedures. So we support with the CareScription platform surgical oncology, cardiac, orthopedic and neural surgery procedures and organ transplants.

Leisa: Congratulations and thank you for sharing that with us.

Kim: Yeah, we’re delighted about that

Leisa: There you have it, another extraordinary woman doing extraordinary things. I’m Leisa Holland Nelson, President and Co-founder ContentActive, Houston’s leading web and mobile technology company. You can find me at ContentActive.com or follow me on Twitter @LHNelson. We’ll be back again next week with another edition of Women Mean Business.
