Leisa: Hello, I’m Leisa Holland-Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business, where we’re going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Maria Moncada Aloui, the General Manager and Dealer Operator for BMW of West Houston. Maria, welcome to Women Mean Business.
Maria: Thank you Leisa, it’s so nice of you to do this and to be here with us today.
Leisa: Well I know there is so much going on at BMW West Houston, tell us about the business and what’s new out here.
Maria: So we’re a brand new dealership. We have a new concept; we’re different than most car dealerships. As you notice we have collaborative areas rather than the traditional desk. We want our customers to feel at ease, we want the experience to be transparent and we want them to be able to experience their car in a collaborative setting rather than in an antagonistic type setting. So you can see your car being worked on, you can drive up right to your service advisor and when you work with your sales person you’re actually collaborating with them. So our concept is called Future Retail and we’re the first one in Texas to build this BNW dealership like that.
Leisa: So you’re really giving me the opportunity that I generally take at home on my couch, going online and looking up every BMW in the universe to see what I want, to come in and do it with you and the sales team here.
Maria: Right and it’s guided. We also have BMW geniuses, which the concept’s also new, our clients can come in any time and ask a BMW genius a question about their vehicles. Our cars have gotten more and more complex, they have a lot of technology, they’re great but it can be a little confusing sometimes. So being able to come in and deal with a BMW genius at any time is also something that we’ve done that’s a little different.
Leisa: Incredible. So if there was one thing that you wanted everybody to know about this dealership what is it?
Maria: We’re new, we’re growing, we want your business and we want you to feel at ease. So our task is not just to sell you one car but to earn all your business. So if you’re mother-in-law, your father-in-law, your brother wants a car that you know where to send them.
Leisa: I guess being run by a woman makes a difference.
Maria: I hope so.
Leisa: Thank you for being here.
Maria: Thank you.
