Leisa: Hello, I’m Leisa Holland Nelson and welcome to another edition of Women Mean Business, where we’re going to take you up close and personal with extraordinary women doing extraordinary things. My guest today is Omana Abraham of Abraham’s rugs. Omana, you and your husband founded this business – really you did – 40 years ago.
Omana: Correct.
Leisa: We know that you didn’t plan to do this as a young woman but you’re very successful; you have several locations, you’re probably Houston’s leading rug and carpet dealer. Imagine we have a young woman with us today and she’d like to achieve your success, what advice would you give her?
Omana: You must love what you do and then you can relate to your customer’s in a very different way than selling your product. You are selling something their heart desires with a deeper meaning to it, explain to people what you are selling them. So put more to it than what money you can get out of it; give them more so they take home more than just the thing that you sold – a story.
Leisa: So you’re fulfilling a dream.
Omana: Yes, definitely. And something that they look at it and it inspires them and they’ll always love what they got.
Leisa: Thank you very much. There you have it, extraordinary advice from another extraordinary woman. I’m Leisa Holland Nelson, President and Co-founder of ContentActive, Houston’s leading web and mobile design and development company.
